Lauren Daigle has been my favorite singer for quite some time. Recently I learned that when she was only 15, she was homebound due to a serious autoimmune issue. She ended up being homebound for two years. But during that time, God began to call her to her music ministry. Her ministry was birthed during those years of isolation.
It is in the desert, the wilderness, of life that if we seek God, he will show us many things including a calling. The Bible has many accounts of people who were in the wilderness of life and God spoke to them.
In my own life, it was during my first bout with autoimmune issues that one day out of frustration I yelled at God saying, “there is no mercy in life” and God responded in my spirit, “then you show mercy.” That was the beginning of God calling me to my ministry among refugees and immigrants.
Dear reader if you experience difficulty in life, seek Jesus, pray, let God speak to you and show you his purposes. Hard times are only hopeless if we give up.
