Little Veronica will be in third grade in August. She is a leader among the girls in Children’s ministry at New Breath. She was about 4 years old when her family fled the war in Ukraine and came here and yet nothing about her now would cause one to realize she lived through such trauma.
When she walked into New Breath yesterday, Pastor Alekseyi told me she had cut her hair, 40 centimeters of hair, to donate for women battling cancer. She was happy to do so and smiled when I shared with her that it was a wonderful way to share the love of Jesus.
The example children are for us for simple acts done out of love is something we can tend to overlook. Jesus does not overlook children. During his earthly ministry, he blessed the children and gave a dire warning for anyone who would harm a child about judgement day.
I have a feeling little Veronica will donate more hair in the future. May we all be like little Veronica in acts of kindness.
