Sunday afternoon at New Breath my little friend Elisa was waiting in the small lobby at the church while her mom was preparing with the worship team. Each Sunday, she talks with me while she waits for her friends to arrive.

This past Sunday, she shared with me about her favorite cartoons. I have not watched a cartoon in years, but enjoyed listening to her share with me. As she shared with me, I thought about I thought about my reaction when she or any of the children at New Breath talk with me.

First is the feeling of protecting them. They are vulnerable children in need of protecting. Then there is the joy of spending time with them and letting them share with me about their lives. There is also the desire to bless them any way I can.

Then I thought about no matter how much I feel about them, it greatly, vastly, pales in comparison to how God feels about them. How God feels about us adults too.

The depth of God’s love for us is beyond our comprehension. We can only accept/experience it by faith. We only need to remember Jesus dying for us on the cross to remember God’s love for us as Romans 5:8 says- But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

Thank you for reading. God Bless.
