An old Beatles song has the lyric “I get by with a little help from my friends.” Though the contents of that song has nothing to do with my post today that one lyric certainly does.

Last night was a case in point of what I am writing about. I have had so much pain that driving is out of the question let alone trying to walk to a bus, so I took an Uber to go teach. My friend Luis gave me a ride home after I finished teaching my class.

Several doctor’s appointments, several tests and still no answer as to what is going on. Finally I will be tested for autoimmune as a possible cause. My pain has been such that I can barely walk at times.

But Jesus has blessed me with wonderful friends who have given me rides, helped me to go shopping, etc. So I am getting by with a little help from my friends.

At times I have felt the prayers of friends as the presence of Jesus has flooded my apartment giving me a spiritual and emotional boost to keep going.

So even though I have resigned myself to needing to use the walker again, I know Jesus will help me through my friends and hopefully one day soon I will have the answer and treatment to recover. Until then my ministry and teaching will continue with help from my friends.

Thank you for reading. God Bless.

  1. Your perseverance through all of this is remarkable. Living with ongoing pain while searching for answers takes tremendous courage. May God remind you daily that you are loved, seen, and never forgotten. I am praying for relief, wisdom for your medical team, and peace for your heart as you wait.
