As a teen and young adult, I never felt I belonged anywhere. As a young teen, I started my quest of finding where I belonged. I tried different types of groups. It was part of growing up in a family with an alcoholic father and mentally ill mother. My search for belonging led me down some wayward paths in life.

But then I met Jesus. I found that I belonged to Jesus. That changed my everything, outlook on life, perception of myself and others.
Think about the possessive language Jesus uses regarding us. He would my and mine, in phrases like “my sheep heard my voice,” “my disciples,” and ultimately the reason he came expressed in John 17:24- “Father, I want those you have given me to be with me where I am, and to see my glory, the glory you have given me because you loved me before the creation of the world.”
Jesus wants us to be with him forever. He wants us to belong to him forever and be with him in our heavenly home.

After meeting Jesus, knowing Jesus as my Savior, my life script flipped from seeking where I belonged by seeking it among different people to seeking to share Jesus with various groups of people in hopes they too can find their belonging in Jesus.
Dear readers Jesus wants you. He wants you to belong to him. He wants you to be with him forever.
Thank you for reading. God Bless.
