March is here 🙂

It is still cold here and more snow is expected this weekend, but March is here, so soon we should be slowly switching over to spring.

I am prepared for my annual battle with allergies to tree pollen as the trees come back to life. I am stocked up on allergy meds and even though allergies are ahead, I am so looking forward to having warmer weather.

One thing about living where I live especially regarding weather is that change is the one constant. We can experience more than one season in a day here in spring waking up to cold mornings, having cool rainy late mornings and then all the sudden it gets hot for a little while.

In my state it is not unusual to have a blizzard in the northern part of the state, freezing rain in the middle, and thunderstorms with tornado watches in the southern part.

Life is full of changes and at times the changes can be as dramatic as a sudden thunderstorm that swoops in quickly. I think about changes I have experienced along the path to where God has me now ministering to and teaching refugees and immigrants.

I have been through various health issues, changed careers, changed denominations, studied two languages in my fifties, and started a ministry. Change can happen suddenly or slowly over time and hopefully we grow through the change and keep our focus on the one person who never changes- Jesus. As Hebrews 13 says:

“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.”

His character never changes. He is the one true anchor in life. He is the one person we can always count on in the midst of turmoil, confusion, doubt, and change. Whether the change is positive or negative, we can rely on Jesus to be with us through it all and to be working through whatever the situation is.

Thank you for reading. God Bless.
