Hot Hot Hot!!! We are in the middle of a heat wave here in my city. with day times highs over 100, 38 c, and overnight lows only 78, 26c. But God is good. I am enjoying the air conditioning at a local coffee shop this week and meeting some interesting people.

This evening I will meet some friends for a free outdoor concert at a local shopping mall. We plan to sit in the shade 🙂 If I get too hot, there is a Barnes and Noble I can go to for a break.
I set a goal to practice my Spanish this summer. This is a book I have been reading. It isn’t a deep thought book. It is children’s book, but suits me haha. 🙂

If I ever got a tattoo, it would be Fe Forca Foco and Fe Fuerza Foco which means- Faith Strength Focus in Portuguese and Spanish. For me, focus helps me with my faith.
Reading helps me to keep my focus. Renewing our minds is so important. With so much negativity in our world today and so many things that can pull us down, it is vital to keep our minds sharp. Yesterday I shared about 2 songs that represented the battle going on in my mind when I was sick. Living with chronic illness keeping my mind sharp is important for me.
Romans 12 says:
“Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.”
Spending time in the word of God, listening to worship music, listening to messages from Christian leaders, all help me to renew my mind. Renewing my mind is essential to not only avoid the pitfalls of sin, but also to avoid slipping into the valley of depression.
Yes -depression. Depression caused by chronic illness. Each day is a new day to refocus. Each day presents the choice to focus on Jesus or on problems. So yes, even during a heat wave, we can focus on Jesus. He is eternal. Heat waves are not as are all problems. All problems are temporary, but Jesus is eternal. 🙂
What helps you to keep focused?
Thank you for reading. God Bless. 🙂
