I want to thank Purple Rose of reluctantpreachersdaughter.wordpress.com for nominating me for the Share Your Passion tag. I enjoy her blog where she shares about her faith and her life.

Rules of the #ShareYourPassion Tag:

  1. Repost the #ShareYourPassion logo (above) on your acceptance post.
  2. Tag the blogger’s site that nominated you.
  3. Share a bit about your passion(s): Hobbies outside of blogging that keep you busy in your free time. What would you like to accomplish with these things? How could you use your passion(s) to be a blessing to others and show them the love of God?
  4. Nominate ten other bloggers and spread the joy!

I wrote in a previous post for Share You Passion about my hobby of learning phrases in other languages, That is my main hobby. I would like to share about a change in my life and ministry.

I have lived with chronic illness for over 25 years. Until the summer of 2018, I never blogged about it and did not say much to anyone. Maybe it is a carry over from the days I played American football when I was younger. I played fullback and linebacker. My mentality was just keep going and do not acknowledge if there is pain.

I felt the Lord call me to write about my experiences with chronic illness and the resulting depression.anxiety in my blog. Since then my blog has grown much more than it did before. It has opened up more opportunities to encourage others.

This has carried over into my daily life. The Lord keeps bringing people into my life who struggle with these issues to encourage them.

My nominees if they choose to participate are:

Beauty from Ashes at beautyfromashesca.wordpress.com

Logan of Justified Freely at distractedfreelybyhisblog.wordpress.com

Michelle of The Mimosa Blossom at apudiem.wordpress.com

Keziah of keziahe.home.blog

Tim Roberts of Everlasting Focus at everlastingfocus.wordpress.com

Terese of Hope for Today at teresbelme.com

Dale Ann at jesusdid.home.blog

Melissa of The Climb to my Lighthouse at theclimbtomylighthouse.wordpress.com

  1. Awesome job. Fullback? I love that position but you’ve gotta be a big guy lol

  2. Thanks for the nomination. My brother played football 🏈 and still has recurring problems. It’s a dangerous sport.

  3. My degree is in Exercise Science! It’s crazy how many people suffer lifelong consequences from football, soccer, rugby and others. It’s not the sports that are inherently bad, but the pressure to continue playing when injured, as you say.

  4. Congratulations. Good to know more about you. Later I will check out the blogs you nominated. You have a gift for finding great blogs. I hope your day will be painfree and stressfree. Blessings.

    1. Thank you little sister 🤗

  5. Thank you for the nomination, brother! I don’t think I can get to it right now, but I really do appreciate the nomination!
I hopped over to the purple rose, enjoyed some of her posts, and followed her.
Thank you also for sharing a bit of your testimony here. This is so important!

    1. I understand if you can’t do it. I am glad you checked out Purple Rose 🙂

  6. I am trying to include my illness in my posts more. I used to feel as you did, so I thought talking about it would sound like complaining.

    1. I think there is a difference between complaining and sharing how God helps us with chronic illness.

      1. Yes, but my brain says people will think I’m complaining. I guess that was the devil.I do try to ignore him and write anyways. 😀

      2. Yes, Tina, I was wondering the same thing about what I shared recently. It seemed like God wanted me to share. But then I wondered if that was right.

      3. There are definitely times when I get very confused about what to write and what not to write. If I’m not convinced that a piece is ready to be published I will hold off, but even when I do I will often go back and re-edit as I learn something new. I see a lot of my mistakes this way too. Ugh…I’m seeing more and more of my mistakes. This is good, but it can also be hard.

      4. I think if you write to honor Jesus and to encourage others, then it is not complaining. If the focus is only on the pain or symptoms and how hard life is and that is it, then it is complaining. But if you share to encourage others then it is not complaining. Just my thought

      5. Right. We also write about it to share our burdens, which is what we’ve been told to do. If we don’t speak, nobody knows what to pray.

  7. Congrats and thank you so much. I will get this done soon.

  8. The confirmation of your calling. Great reading more about you. Well deserved.

    1. Thank you little sister 🤗

      1. You are so very welcome.

  9. Congratulations and I most certainly enjoy your blog :).

    1. Thank you little sister 🙂

  10. Keep sharing what the Lord lays on your heart!

    1. Thank you little sister 🙂

  11. Not sure what the nomination entails, however I’m glad that you liked my poem inspired by an eagle 🙂 I got saved in April and have been a saint since, ✌️✝️

  12. That’s good that you can encourage others by sharing about your struggles with chronic illness and depression/anxiety. You’re a blessing to many big brother.

    1. Thank you little sister 🙂 How is Virginia?

      1. Cold but everything is good lol. Thanks for asking. How are you?

      2. I am ok. Do you like the cold? haha

      3. That’s good. I guess it’s not too bad. I just keep reminding myself it could be way worse..like in the mid west.

  13. Big bro and his love for many language. 🤗💃

I can reckon with the “keep going, ignore the pain”. I had that mentality at some point too. But I got to know that as much as God is interested in our well being, He wants us to be open with the odds we face too. Feels great letting it all out!.
    Key!.

    Congrats on the nomination. 🙂

    1. Thank you little sister 🙂
