I gave up on trying to match socks a long time ago because it always seemed one sock would disappear into the abyss. I found a solution that I guarantee to work.
When I do the dreaded deed of shopping for clothes, a trauma we should all be spared, I only buy two colors of socks- black and white. Using this method guarantees that my socks will always match.
I wear white socks for normal days of teaching, going to church, hanging out etc. I only wear black socks for special occasions such as weddings when I begrudgingly wear dress shoes. As of this writing, I am not sure where my dress shoes are because it has been a long time since I needed them. But I digress.
The beauty of my method is that I never have to match socks when I do laundry. I just throw them in my drawer after they are dry. It is easy to pick out two socks that match. Also if I lose a sock to the abyss, it is not a problem because there are more just like it in my drawer.
Fortunately, Jesus never loses any of his children. No one can take us from him either. John 10:
“I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all; no one can snatch them out of my Father’s hand. I and the Father are one.”
With Jesus we are eternally secure and safe. He won’t lose us and no one can take us away from him.
