Story Time- Socks

I gave up on trying to match socks a long time ago because it always seemed one sock would disappear into the abyss. I found a solution that I guarantee to work.

When I do the dreaded deed of shopping for clothes, a trauma we should all be spared, I only buy two colors of socks- black and white. Using this method guarantees that my socks will always match.

I wear white socks for normal days of teaching, going to church, hanging out etc. I only wear black socks for special occasions such as weddings when I begrudgingly wear dress shoes. As of this writing, I am not sure where my dress shoes are because it has been a long time since I needed them. But I digress.

The beauty of my method is that I never have to match socks when I do laundry. I just throw them in my drawer after they are dry. It is easy to pick out two socks that match. Also if I lose a sock to the abyss, it is not a problem because there are more just like it in my drawer.

Fortunately, Jesus never loses any of his children. No one can take us from him either. John 10:

“I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all; no one can snatch them out of my Father’s hand. I and the Father are one.”

With Jesus we are eternally secure and safe. He won’t lose us and no one can take us away from him.

Having shared my fashion expertise, I wonder who should have a free fashion consultation from me. You can nominate another blogger in the comments πŸ™‚

  1. Hi ! Great post….I am laughing now…sock loss is a common phenomenon. My husband wears tan coloured socks, for the same reason. And so true, God never loses any one of us. The Lord is always seeking and guiding us. πŸ€—

  2. What a wonderful solution to the eternal sock problem!
I’m so so thankful Jesus doesn’t lose any of our children, esp those of us who look worn beyond recognition or repair πŸ˜‰πŸ™ŒπŸ½

  3. Yay! πŸ˜ƒ I laughed at “…a trauma we should all be spared.” As a petite woman I can relate to that statement. It’s not east being a miniature women. Sometimes you have to get creative, or wear clothing that doesn’t quite fit right.

  4. You’re so funny! πŸ˜‚ All of my socks are black, brown, or grey. At this point it might be easier for you to go do your favorite thing and shop for another pair of dress shoes lol. I’m glad Jesus doesn’t lose us too. 😊

  5. I like this idea of buying only two colors of socks πŸ˜… ingenious! Although the beauty of shopping is having more than one thing πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ but praise the Lord indeed, we are not treated like socks by our Lord

  6. You’ve enlightened me! In case you want to branch out and go a little crazy, πŸ€ͺ it’s okay to wear socks that don’t match! My PreK does that all the time πŸ˜‚
