Today my church is not having worship services. The pastor is live streaming a message at 9am. Many of the churches in my city have also canceled services. It is a wise and prudent measure at this time.

I would like to remind my followers and readers of a wonderful truth. Jesus is with us where ever we are. We can experience his presence at home and in fact he is our roommate. In John 14 Jesus said:
“Jesus replied, “Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching. My Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them.”
So if you are at home like I am, Jesus and God our Father are with us. Take time today to listen to worship music, pray, read the bible. In other words, enjoy spending time with your roommate Jesus. 🙂
Another wonderfully important truth to remember is that Jesus will never leave us. In John 14 Jesus also said:
“I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you”
So if spending time at home and not at church feels isolating, remember Jesus has not left us. If the current crisis causes stress and anxiety, Jesus will not leave us.
Nothing can prevent Jesus from being with us. Corrie Ten Boom, a woman who survived a Nazi concentration camp, said:
“There is no pit so deep, that God’s love is not deeper still.”
We can give Jesus our worries and concerns. I am in a few of the high risk categories with the virus. I am almost 62 years old, I have asthma, and chronic illness. But I have peace because of Jesus. Yes, I am being careful. I am also giving my concerns to Jesus. We are encouraged to do so in 1 Peter 5 in the bible:
“Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.”
So look to our roommate Jesus and tell him all of our anxieties. 🙂
Thank you for reading. God Bless.
