Today is May Day. May 1st has various meanings. In some countries May 1st is Labor Day. When I was a child, May 1st was May Day a time we would leave little baskets of candy at the door of a friend, ring the doorbell and run off.

Another meaning of May Day is to signal one is in danger and needs help such as a plane going down.

Have you felt like crying out May Day at this time?

That would be totally understandable to feel that way.

Psalm 145 says:

The Lord is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth”

If we call out to the Lord in truth, he will be near to us. God does not break promises like we do. He will follow through.

I was reminded of that in March when I suddenly lost 3 weeks of income due to shutdown of my school. I called out to God and he came through. I was given help with monthly bills for April and received surprise blessings.

My encouragement to you is to call out May Day to Jesus and see what he does. The one caveat is to do so in truth, the truth of who he is and the truth of our situation.

Happy May Day everyone. Thank you for reading. God Bless.
