May is Mental Health awareness month. One issue with Mental Health Anxiety is living with Anxiety Disorders.
Living with an anxiety disorder is more than simply feeling nervous before a test or job interview. Anxiety problems can include:

Due to living with more than one chronic illness, anxiety has been an issue for me. It is much better now, but as a Christian it was not easy to share about it especially since I had been in ministry for a while before I experienced problems.
One thing that has helped me a lot is what God says about anxiety. God does not just say don’t be anxious. In the bible God invites us to come to him and give him our anxieties. In 1st Peter 5 we read:
“Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.”
God invites us to cast our anxiety on him. I love the reason he tells us to do so. BECAUSE HE CARES FOR YOU.
God invites us to come to him and give him our anxiety. He loves us. He knows our weakness and loves us. I think sometimes we think of God as not being sympathetic with us or not understanding us.
Hebrews 4 says:
“Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has ascended into heaven, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to the faith we profess. For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet he did not sin. Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.”
Jesus lived in this world and experienced pain, death, loss of his earthly step-father Joseph, being abandoned by his friends for a few examples. That is why he can sympathize with us and understand us. That is why we can cast our anxiety on God and come to God in prayer to find mercy and grace in our time of need.
If anxiety disorders are an issue for you, please seek help and also remember God invites you to tell him all as he welcomes you with open arms.
If you are feeling anxious at this time because of the COVID-19 crisis, God invites you to tell him all as he welcomes you with open arms.
Thank you for reading. God Bless.
