Yesterday evening after my Life Group finished meeting on Zoom, I checked my blog for posts from bloggers I follow. My fellow Nebraskan and little sister Alicia of forhispurpose.blog had a post that gave me a good laugh. It is a DYI post about how to make a sign for a garden. I won’t spoil it for you. The link is- Garden Sign DYI.

It is wonderful to part of a blogging community because your posts can make me laugh, encourage me in my faith, help me to see places from around the world, and keep life interesting.

Cynthia of thedisableddiva.com shared about sleep and through comments we discovered that we both love naps. As she told me, it is a great perk for me that at this time of teaching from home, it is much easier for me to take naps. 🙂

Speaking of naps, I took one yesterday. But fun stuff happened first.

Yesterday was a good day overall. It started with spending time with Jesus in prayer. I saw real people in real life not just online. I dropped off a donated laptop at El Centro de las Americas, the Hispanic Center here, for a woman who teaches GED classes for the Center. I had the chance to talk with the few people working there. I picked up aforementioned laptop in the morning at a friends house-socially distanced of course- but had a chance to talk for a bit.

I had a tutoring session online with a fellow blogger and gave her homework, which I am sure she is thrilled to have 🙂

Then it happened.

A ONE HOUR NAP. 🙂

Do you like naps?

Thank you for reading. God Bless.

  1. I have a toddler who has daily naps, so I get to have one too! 😀

    1. You are blessed to be able to take naps 🙂

  2. I napped yesterday thanks to a headache!! I enjoy a good nap BUT sometimes I worry that I’m wasting time when I have things that I “think” need done….I need to keep in mind that resting is encouraged Biblically ❤️
I love that you assigned homework to your blogger/tutor student!!

    1. Naps are good for you little sister. 🙂
She is lucky to have homework haha

      1. Haha …my kids are now ready for summer break, the mild excitement of online learning has expired for them

      2. Are you ready for summer break with them?

      3. I kind of am, just because I’m really soaking in this rare opportunity of not having as many responsibilities given the fact of the virus…however I’ll still keep them doing flash cards, silent reading, and a few other brain workers!😅

  3. You’re kidding!? A nap!!!!! You mean when you actually sleep in the daytime!? Impossible. Never in all my years of life have I taken a nap. Never!

Oh man. I feel so badly for that fellow blogger. Homework… ugh! Poor girl.

    1. Naps are wonderful 🙂
That blogger is SO LUCKY 🙂

      1. I haven’t experienced one yet.
That student is so brave, awesome, cool, tough, and terrific, that I wanna meet them just to tell them how much I admire their ability to do all that.

      2. 🙂
I think that student’s parents are happy she has homework 🙂

      3. Uh oh.
        *tummy hurting laugh*

  4. My day is broken up into two parts. There is the time before my nap, and the time after my nap.🤗

    1. 🤗 makes for a good day

    2. Same!! And those tend to be my most productive days!

      1. Hurrah for naps ! 🤗

  5. It’s like reading 📚 a page from your secret journal. Thanks for a peek inside your world. Naps ROCK 🎸

    1. Naps do ROCK 🙂
      Thank you

  6. Occasionally, a nap is the order of the day. I have mastered the illusion of catnaps. Take care Matt!

  7. Hi there,
I stumbled across your blog while looking at book review stuff and I was wondering if you might be interested in a free digital copy of my book Life on Mission @ Work in exchange for an honest review and rating on amazon and (if you were so inclined, a blog post sharing your thoughts but that’s not required). It’s a short mini-book (50 pages) and I’m just looking to get some feedback on it and help share it a bit. Totally understand and respect if that’s not something you’re into or want to do. Just figured I would ask. Thank you for your time. Hope you have an amazing day!

    1. Get back to me on this in a few weeks. I am swamped at this time with online teaching which takes more of my time prep wise than being in the classroom.

  8. I love naps as well… they are just so refreshing and give a nice creative boost up ❤

  9. I enjoy naps, but I have such a hard time taking them.

      1. I think its due to insomnia.

      2. Have you tried Camomile tea!

      3. Yes, and sleepy time tea. *sighs*

  10. I love a good power nap after lunch. Today though I fell asleep sitting up on the couch, feet on the ottoman and slept for four hours, that’s never happened to me before. It’s been four days since we arrived in Northern Mn after a four day four night drive from California so think it all caught up with me. The part that was not good was I had a nightmare of a dream during my long nap and I probably won’t be able to fall asleep tonight. One thing I have learned though at my age, sleep is good anytime. My husband worded night for the first 20 years of our marriage so staying up late is easy for me. I think Jesus used some of his alone time to catch up on His sleep, Can’t prove it, just a theory of mine since he was all human and was busy. Blessings

    1. That is a power nap. I have had some of those before. If you don’t sleep much tonight, you can take a nap tomorrow too 🙂

      That was a long trip!!!

  11. Naps are a nice treat during the day. 😊

  12. I didn’t love naps my entire life until recently. Hitting 30 next month. I think that’s it lol.

    1. I am hitting 30 plus a little more next month 🙂

  13. When are we going to ask questions about you again? That was a fun game!

      1. Can I steal your idea? Not gonna get many questions by far since you are a very popular guy but it would be fun. Staving off the boredom.

      2. Hey there! I nominated you for the Liebster Award. Go check out my post! 😉

  14. Napping is good, but I rarely naps. If I do, my naps take an hour or more hhaha 😀

  15. Sounds like a great day! I hated naps when I was younger but these days I really love taking little naps in the afternoon.

  16. Yes taking a nap when I need to and when I can really helps rejuvenate me. Praise The Lord for naps! God bless

  17. Naps are good but generally for me now, on some days I wake up feeling worst off than when I slept. So I try not to engage it as often as before. 😓

That was so nice, the drop off and the laptop donation. 🙂

    1. Naps help me. Sorry they don’t help you

      1. Smiles. Naps are good actually. 💯
Maybe not for me on some days. 😀
