The hour is dark
And it’s hard to see
What You are doin’ here in the ruins
And where this will lead
Oh, but I know
That down through the years
I’ll look on this moment and see Your hand on it
And know You were here

And I’ll testify of the battles You’ve won
How You were my portion when there wasn’t enough (That’s right)
And I’ll testify of the seas that we’ve crossed
The waters You parted, the waves that I’ve walked

Nightbirde certainly faced dark hours and battles in life. She battled cancer and also experienced her husband leaving her after she was diagnosed with cancer. However, she looked to Jesus and sang about him. The story she chose to tell through song was of Jesus in her life.

Whatever hardship we face in life, we can look to Jesus. He has promised to always be with us. He has overcome the world and has a wonderful eternal future waiting for those who trust in him. The question is what story do we want to tell. I chose to tell the same story as in this song.

Thank you for reading. God Bless.

  1. I watched the African music group that sang her song as a tribute to her. “It’s OK”. For many reasons, she touches my heart. I went on to research and learn more of her (including her pastor brother). Thank you, brother for sharing this beautiful Angel who impacted millions before God called her home 💚🙏🏻

    1. She is home and no longer suffering
