My three week break is over. It spoiled me. I got used to sleeping late, visiting friends, and hanging out at the coffee shop. I found myself longing for that to be my permanent reality. But then that alarm went off Monday morning to wake me up for my Monday/Wednesday morning class. Monday evening I taught my Zoom class and yesterday evening I taught my evening class at the college.
Now I am back in the groove and enjoying this reality. Teaching is part of who I am and I love interacting with students, students from many countries. In Brazil they have a saying, ‘este e minha praia’ this is my beach meaning this is my comfort zone, my place.

God designs us with abilities and interests to serve in his kingdom. Ephesians 2:10 says:
For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.
God not only designed us for what we are called to do, but notice he prepared those things in advance for us. He knew what we would be doing, what we would need, who we would connect with and reach for him. That is a comforting thought to hold onto when we doubt ourselves.
So back to teaching. Break time is over. I am happy to share that Jesus has led me to start my Saturday group at my church again. This Saturday I will meet with some Brazilians and then I will provide a TOEFL preparation group for two young women, one from Turkey and on from Venezuela. I will continue with my Ukrainian friends on Friday afternoons.

My class at the college and in Zoom have students from eleven different countries. Returning to the classroom reminds me of how God took me from the pit in life to being a vessel of his to reach the nations.
What had God called you to do?
Thank you for reading. God Bless.
