Yesterday it was a wonderful blessing to have lunch with Alicia of forhispurpose.blog and her family. They were in Lincoln for a soccer tournament that was canceled at the last moment, but they came anyway.

Alicia is someone I admire for her faith and how she has overcome with the help of Jesus. She lives outside of a small town in Western Nebraska. They have animals on their acreage. I lost track of how many, but still tried to encourage them to get a couple of llamas because llamas can fight off the coyotes.

We met at Chic-fil-A. It was fun to get to know Alicia’s family. Her husband is a guy I am sure I would have fun hanging out with. Her children are obviously intelligent because they laughed at my jokes. 🙂

It was the second time I met up with Alicia. The first time was when she came to Lincoln with her pastor’s wife. The first time one meets Alicia in person, the first thing one might notice is her bright smile. She exudes the joy of the Lord. Her family is fun and I can easily imagine the adventures they must have.

One thing I wish I could do is travel to meet other bloggers, but my work and ministry keep me busy. Even when classes are on break, I still have my weekend groups. Maybe one day, I will make the four hour trip west to visit Alicia and her family. I think I would need to drive to the small town near her and ride a horse and buggy to her place though. 🙂

How has your weekend been?

Thank you for reading. God Bless.

  1. I’m jealous that you all got to be together again. It’s a godly jealousy, though. 🙂

It will be a blessing to meet many more in heaven if not in this life 😊

  4. I love this! It’s amazing how we have formed some great friendships here on WordPress. I wish I could visit with you, Alicia, and other fellow bloggers as well. Maybe one day I can travel to your neck of the woods. But just think of what a wonderful circle of friends we will have when we all get heaven!

    1. Heaven will be a great place to hang out and get to know each other. 🙂

  5. Beautiful fellowship by all the beautiful smiles. I am reading your book on my Kindle now thanks to my husband’s help.

    1. It was wonderful fellowship. Glad your husband could help 🙂

  6. Matt,
The book is awesome. I will review it on Amazon. I like that you speak from the heart. I can almost see you sitting at the coffee shop relating the contents to those who have survived trauma. The use of Scriptures is so encouraging and demonstrates a real knowledge of God’s words. This is a needed book.

    1. Thank you so much!!!
I appreciate your encouragement and is was so timely for me to receive it

  7. How lovely!!! I would love to meet up with you and Alicia and with so many others that I have met through blogging. God bless you all.

    1. That would be fun to meet. One thing we know is that if not in this life, we will meet in heaven 🙂
