They got it right this time. We actually had the snow the TV weather people predicted. Classes were canceled yesterday and today. It did not seem like that much snow to me. I remember walking to school as a child in more snow than we had Sunday night through yesterday, but days off are nice.

TV weather person is a job I would not want in my area of Nebraska. They depend on weather predictions from different sources and more often than not, the amount of snow we get is far less or rarely far more than predicted. We have actually had days in recent years that school was canceled due to predicted heavy snow that never came.

People have tried to predict the return of Jesus for two thousand years. Jesus gave us signs to look for but there have been numerous times in history it seemed like those signs were happening. Jesus told us about the time when he was asked in Acts 1:6-8:

Then they gathered around him and asked him, “Lord, are you at this time going to restore the kingdom to Israel?”

He said to them: “It is not for you to know the times or dates the Father has set by his own authority.  But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”

So Jesus gave signs to look for but told us it is not for us to know the time? The two are not opposing thoughts. Jesus gave us signs to tell us to be ready, be prepared. Part of being ready is desiring to see others be prepared by coming to know Jesus. That is how the being his witnesses fits in.

So while I clean the snow off of my car, it will also be time to pray for those who are not ready yet.

Thank you for reading. God Bless.

  1. It is important to be living in Jesus and turned unto his voice. Weathermen are not always right but Jesus is dependable and truth. Amazing that school would be cancelled for a small amount of snow.

    1. Amen listen to Jesus
We ended up with 7 inches. I think the main reason for school being canceled is the school district is large and the schools needed time for snow removal

      1. Guess that it is not snow country and they are not used to snow removal. Blessings!

  2. Amen, Matt! Reminds me of the song, ‘I Wanna Be Ready, When Jesus Comes’ by Dottie Peoples🎼🎵🎶🎤

    1. I wanna be ready too 🙂

  3. The days off were nice but not a big fan of the snow 🙂

    1. So I guess no picnic for you haha

  4. Amen, Matt! Isaiah was an amazing and accurate forecaster, too! So glad we can on Jesus! And at least one snow day in my part of the world ❄️🩵🙏🏻

    1. Do you like snow days?
Isaiah certainly was amazing. I love the book of Isaiah.

  5. Yes, we are to be ready but not get caught up with when exactly that would be. Hope you enjoyed the time off with classes being cancelled.

    1. I enjoyed the extra time off but it was good to be back in class today.

  6. Sounds like our kind of forecasts that don’t come to pass some days. We didn’t get snow, but we got severe thunderstorms in our area.
I’m glad God gave us signs to discern the times.

    1. Do you like thunderstorms?
We will have more snow Friday. Winter is here 🙂

      1. Not really…. But I’m not overly frightened.
        Happy snow days! ⛄️ ❄️

  7. Come over here 👈 and enjoy my snow ❄️ I assure you we can build a snowman 😄😄 happy new year

    1. Yes we can build a snowman. I would watch while you build it 🙂 🙂 haha

  8. Living in Christ every day is a precious blessing. As far snow, we’ve seen a few flakes. But, it looks the coming weather will prove again that winter eventually shows up in January.

    1. I imagine the snows in Ohio are nothing like the snows in Montana

  9. We also had snow days like that when we lived in the mountains. Unfortunately, if it snowed and buses were already on the road they would have to turn around and take the children home, on sometimes treacherous roads. Other times when it didn’t snow but was supposed to, the bus drivers would have a late start picking up students.

    1. I can’t imagine driving a bus on snowy mountain roads. Glad you made it safely back then a few years ago 🙂
