I went to see my surgeon today thinking he would clear me to drive and start using the aqua track. My hopes were dashed in a matter of seconds. After six weeks of no driving and six weeks of physical therapy, I found out my quad tendon did not attach well. He was surprised that I can walk and do not have pain.

So a 2nd surgery followed by six more weeks of physical therapy and six weeks of no driving. is in my immediate future. As a bonus, I will be wearing a brace too.

On the positive side, Sunday was a great day. My friend Luis from El Salvador gave me a ride to church and then we had lunch after church. He dropped me off at New Breath the Ukrainian church after lunch. It was a blessing to see friends, preach the gospel, and enjoy fellowship.

On the bright side, I won’t have to miss on teaching. The surgeon told me a long weekend should be enough for me to go back to teaching.

I am trying not to let discouragement take over.

Thank you for reading. God Bless.

  13. Hang in there Matt. Years ago when my Dad had His first hip replacement surgery, the results showed that the surgeon needed to use a full-replacement instead of a partial one. He headed back for a second surgery, with success.
