The young woman who lives across the hall from me is someone I have shared with about Jesus a bit. Sunday evening, I was sitting outside when she walked up. I asked how she was doing. Then she shared with me that two of her friends died. Her friends were shot and killed outside a strip club in my city.

What should one do in such a situation? It was not time to talk about morality. It was not time for judgement. She is grieving. I simply asked if she needed a hug. She nodded yes, so I gave her a hug and told her I know she has a gentle heart.
In such moments, people remember how we treated them. She had just shared with me her pain. She was in tears. She will remember kindness and how she felt.
My prayer is that because of that and other acts of kindness, she is drawn to read the copy of my book Jesus Understands Trauma that I gave her a few months ago.
As Romans 2:4 says:
Or do you show contempt for the riches of his kindness, forbearance and patience, not realizing that God’s kindness is intended to lead you to repentance?
Kindness can help lead people to our Savior Jesus.
Thank you for reading. God Bless.
