My pastor shared an insight to the account in the bible of the woman caught in adultery in John chapter 8. She had been caught in the act of adultery and dragged out before Jesus. The law required her to be stoned to death. When the religious leaders pressed Jesus about her being stoned, Jesus said, “he who is without sin may cast the first stone.” One by one they all dropped their stones and left.

Jesus stood up and asked her who was left to condemn her, she said, “no one sir.” Jesus told her, then neither do I, go and sin no more.

The two insights my pastor shared were:

1- That Jesus was the only perfect person there who could have condemned her. But he did not.

2- Jesus did not condemn her. Instead he would die for her sins just as he died for all of our sins.

So while all this was transpiring, what was in Jesus’s mind was that he would die for her sins, so she could be forgiven.

Boom. What a beautiful truth to remember.

Jesus the only perfect person to ever live on earth, chose to die for us, so we would not be condemned if we come to him.

Just wanted to share that thought.

Thank you for reading. God Bless.

P.S.- I always wondered why the man she was with was not dragged out as well.
