Anthonia of beautyfile.co.uk shared a post today about being judged by others due to people we associate with. Her post is Should You Judge Someone By The Company You Keep? She raised some points that caused me to think about how I would be judged based on those I spend time with.

If people were to observe me, they would see me spending a lot of time with refugees and immigrants. On any given Sunday, one would see me in worship service with my Hispanic friends, at lunch after worship service in a small Hispanic restaurant with my friends, and then at New Breath the Ukrainian church.

During the week, one might see me at the college interacting with students, at a coffee shop interacting with anyone there, telling jokes. connecting with them briefly.

Bu then there are my go to friends. They are the ones I look to when I need advice, need help, or need encouragement.

Jesus was judged by the religious leaders for keeping company with sinners. he would go into the homes of people and have dinner with them. But they did not consider why he was with the people. He was with them to bring them to knowing him as their Savior.

I have been in the homes of people most would not spend time with. It is because my desire is to hopefully share Jesus with them. That and the fact that other cultures are interesting for me. Oh and the food is usually really good too. 🙂

So I am not sure what other people would think of me by observing who I spend time with, but ultimately, it is what Jesus thinks that matters most to me.

Thank you for reading. God Bless.

  1. Great wisdom and post, brother! We’re a lot alike…

Hmm….perhaps because we love Jesus and want to be around those HE would be around!

God bless you, Matt! What I see is that you love Jesus and you share that with whomever you’re around! Keep being a light!

    1. Thank you for you kind words little sister 🙂
      How are you feeling today?
      Any nature walks this weekend?

      1. You’re welcome, big brother. I tweaked my back this week–it’s better! But I’m being gentle with it. I’m going to stay at my “old” house, Karla’s Cottage, in my former community. I’ll go to Silver Dollar City for the Gospel Fest with my friends and former church family members there. I’m praying my back and body hold out! God is good! I’m moving slow, but I’m moving. I’m going to get to the nature trail in just a bit to see how I do on a gentle walk! If my energy and back start to decline, I’ll get home asap! I pray YOU are doing well and that your weekend is filled with the goodness and blessings (and no pain!)! 🙏🤗

      2. prayer for your walk little sister
Gospel Fest- Is it mostly Southern Gospel?

      3. It was a good one, Matt. I did about 2 miles–in total (counting to the car and walking around here at home). My body is tired but my soul is happy.
Yes, it’s the Southern Gospel Picnic for that theme park. I go to the Bluegrass one as well. They will have other Christian artists throughout the year–and venues in Springfield do as well. But this is just Southern Gospel! Wish you and Gary and family were down this way. We’d all have a blast together! We can rent scooters for whomever needs one, too! God bless you, brother!

      4. David and Gary would both love some Southern Gospel. I can envision them singing along and perhaps playing guitar or banjo 🙂

      5. We’d have a hoot in’ nanny of a great singing time, dear brother! 🎶
