Came to my coffee shop yesterday and this is the mug they gave me to use. It feels too early, way too early, to have a Christmas themed coffee mug.

What is never too early is enjoying a cup of coffee, catching up with fellow bloggers, practicing my Ukrainian, very beginning Ukrainian, and most of all time with Jesus.

The workbook for the Ukrainian alphabet says for for kids and adults. I am at the pre-school kid level with the Ukrainian language, but have to start somewhere right? 🙂

I also want to try to learn some Russian. Yes, I am a language nerd and you might think I am crazy. But is it a fun kind of crazy don’t you think?

My language learning is always connected with my ministry. I studied Spanish for one year after a missions trip to Mexico. I studied Portuguese for a year after a missions trip to Brazil. The Ukrainian and Russian interest are all about my involvement with New Breath the Ukrainian church.

So my relaxing Saturday afternoon was spent at the coffee shop, drinking my coffee from a Christmas themed mug, blogging, and practicing some Ukrainian.

How was your Saturday?

Thank you for reading. God Bless.

  1. I had a chill Saturday. It was relaxing. Glad you enjoyed coffee, and learning languages!

    1. Relaxing Saturdays are so good to enjoy

  2. It’s really cool that you want to learn new languages. Good luck with it.

    1. Thank you my fellow Jedi. How many languages do you speak?

      1. Fluent in four languages and currently learning German.

      2. You are so intelligent my fellow Jedi 🙂

      3. Thanks and you are too. Learning languages when we’re older is really hard (at least for me it’s been much more difficult) but you are so enthusiastic about it and have picked up quite a few.

      4. They can be and you get to learn so much about a different culture through the language.

  3. I admire how you learn languages. It is never too early for coffee and yes maybe a tad early for the Christmas themed coffee mug

    1. Amen never to early for coffee.
For me, Christmas stuff is better after our Thanksgiving Day here at the end of November

  4. It’s never too early for Christmas 🎄😁 I have been on Duolingo for over 400 days in an attempt to learn Spanish. But I still have a loooong way to go. Maybe (a big maybe) one day after I master that, I would like to learn Finnish also? I really admire you for your love of languages and the way you help our non-English speaking friends.

    1. Thank you little sister 🙂
Spanish is a fun language keep going 🙂
Do you have many Spanish speakers where you live? Maybe they can help you practice

      1. I do have two friends who speak Spanish. One is Cuban and one is Puerto Rican. I hope to get to the point where I can at least practice with someone. I don’t know how you keep all the words and sentences structures in your head. God truly gave you a gift when it comes to learning languages, big brother 😁

      2. Asking people to help you with their language shows them that you honor and respect them. It also endears yourself to them.

  5. Aww, brother Matt. It’s SO good to see you. I’ve missed you. Sip sip hooray! It does feel so early for the Christmas mug—yet, movies and decorations are here aren’t they? Thanksgiving is still my favorite so I won’t rush Christmas. But I’ll drink coffee out of any mug! I think it’s wonderful that you have learned, and still learn, new languages! How cool! I’m sorry I’ve been gone so long again. It’s always good to see you. God bless you, brother! I pray you have a wonderful weekend, too! 🙏 ☕️

    1. So good to hear from you little sister. Yes those movies are here already but I don’t watch them yet lol
I love Thanksgiving too with all of the delicious food and time with friends.
How are you? How was time with family in Texas?

      1. Oh, brother, Matt, we’re alike, lol!
Texas was magnificent. Being in the camper made me happy, happy,…and it was hot there too (we lost electricity and it took me back to the good ol’ days!).
I returned and my Dad has been in the hospital since….today! He has 4 blockages, a bad valve, and too much fluid. The surgeon drained 750 cc’s and dad was too weak for open heart. We will do home health care and try to build his strength. In the everchanging circumstances I cling to the promise of Christ. This world is only temporary and glory is waiting! As you know well, brother. I’m back to substitute teaching part-time a few days. Between the visits, hospital, health, school, I’m rarely here. But I hold you in my heart and prayers, brother! I pray you are gaining strength and doing well. I’ll fly back to Maryland next Sunday and see how my cancer is doing. I’m expecting the best! God is so good! 🤗❣️🙏

      2. Praying for you little sister Karla and will pray for your dad too. Glad you had a good time in Texas. Wonderful you are able to substitute teach.

      3. Thank you dear brother!!

  6. I wrote a 5 on page paper on sampling method in child observation and worked on a 50 slide PowerPoint presentation.

    1. You had a fun Saturday with homework 🙂
I tell my students that homework is an exciting opportunity to learn and then they look at me as if they are wondering what planet I am from lol

  7. BTW – It’s never too early for a Christmas mug!

    1. Are you already watching those soapy Christmas movies? 🙂

      1. I’ve been watching them since July😂
