Being at the age of having a lot more yesterdays than I do tomorrows in this life, at times I tend be get reflective about my life. If I were to measure my life by the normal standards most people consider a successful life, I would be a failure.

At times that thinking creeps into my mind and when I pray, it might come through in my prayers as if to apologize.

God’s answer to such thinking? He arranges some small “coincidence” to correct my thinking. Case in point was yesterday.

I had a craving for some Chicken Tikka Korma a food from Afghanistan at a local restaurant, so I stopped there to get a to go order. The young man working was a former student of mine in 2019. He asked me if I remembered him. It was not busy at the time, so we talked for about five minutes catching up. He even gave me extra chicken.

Upon arriving at the college, a few blocks away, and sitting down at the adjunct desk to do some work and eat, the realization hit me that the brief interaction showed my thinking was off.

While it is true that I do not have any of the normal things that would show success in life; family, house and such, God has blessed me with being able to teach, help, and share Jesus with people from all over the world living in my city.

Ephesians 2:10- “For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”

Thank you for reading. God Bless.
