Today’s episode of jesusluvsall blog post is being brought to you from my home study/office. Yes, the coffee shop was frequented with my friend Todd earlier today where we solved college football problems, world problems, etc if only anyone would listen to us. lol

So I do not want to sound like a Christmas Scrooge because in prior posts I mentioned I have no decorations. Not feeling the whole holiday part of it all yet. But then I remembered, I had this Christmas themed coffee mug one of my Sunday morning friends gave me last year. So here I sit, in my home office, drinking my fourth cup of coffee from a Christmas decorated coffee mug.

Being single, no family to celebrate holidays with, makes the “holiday season” stuff of little interest for me. But I am happy to report that on Christmas Day, I will be celebrating with my friends at New Breath Church, so I will have a Ukrainian Christmas. Spending Christmas with friends from other countries makes the real meaning of Christmas come alive for me. The real reason is found in John 3:16 when Jesus said:

“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life”

The real meaning of Christmas, that the Savior of the world was born, is something that people can connect with no matter if they have resources for the holiday trappings or not, have family or not, live in poverty, or any other situation. That God loves us so deeply he sent us his absolute best- Jesus.

Think about this. There is no salvation plan for the angels who rebelled against God. Only for us human beings who he created in his image.

So back to working on my caffeine buzz, don’t tell my doctor, and preparing for tomorrow for my Sunday group, worship at my church, and then worship at New Breath.
