I saw a reel of CeCe Winans, one of my favorite singers, and in it she says, “I am known around the world as a singer, but God does see me as a singer. He see me as his child.”
I love that thought. We can tend to think of what we do as our identity. As an example, I teach, so my students know me as teacher. I have written some books, so my readers know me as an author. I blog so my fellow bloggers know me as a blogger. But all of those things are only part of my identity.

Ultimately, my identity is in Jesus and in God’s eyes my identity is Child of God. He knows me as his child. Yes, God sees what I do and remembers the things I do to show him love as Hebrews 6:10 says.
“God is not unjust; he will not forget your work and the love you have shown him as you have helped his people and continue to help them.”
As Romans 8:14-16 says
“For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God. The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship. And by him we cry, “Abba, Father.” The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children”
God knows me in relationship with him because of Jesus. God is father and I am his child. That is my identity, Child of God. That is eternal. Everything I do in this life that people know me as is temporary. In heaven I won’t be teacher, writer, blogger. I will be God’s child.
Thank you for reading. God Bless.
