Outside of the church where New Breath has worship services, there are some bushes that are bright red with fall colors. When I saw them, I thought about God speaking to Moses through the burning bush.
A burning bush that is not being consumed by the fire and is speaking to me would certainly get my attention. God has spoken in many awe inspiring ways
The most awe inspiring is that God spoke to us through Jesus as Hebrews 11:1-3 says:
“In the past God spoke to our ancestors through the prophets at many times and in various ways, but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom also he made the universe. The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven.”
Jesus left his throne in heaven to be born a human baby for the purpose of becoming our Savior and to show us who God is. We hear it so much that perhaps the impact of that truth does not hit us fully, but it is the ultimate truth for us to embrace.
