It is a bit humorous to me now as I recall as a child not understanding the beginning of Psalm 23- The Lord is my shepherd I shall not want. I would wonder why I would not want Jesus. Of course as an adult, the understanding of what it means is clear to me that with Jesus I will not lack in his promises of his presence with me, his love, and the eternal destiny he has secured for me.

His presence with me is what has kept me going over the years through all of the struggles in life, auto immune issues, financial problems, the years of being severely sick and then recovering.
Jesus truly is Immanuel, God with us, just as he promised to be with us. Michael Card’s song Immanuel is one of my favorite songs not only at Christmas time, but throughout the year. That song was on repeat for me when I was so sick in 1993 to 1995. There were times I would listen to it and feel the presence of Jesus that seemed like hours but were only the minutes of the song.
Immanuel, God with us, God with you if you choose. God is always willing to receive us. Jesus’s arms are open wide to any who receive him.
So again this Christmas season, I am sharing the song Immanuel.
Thank you for reading. God Bless.
