Woke up this morning and told myself-“Back to the land of the living.” Melodramatic I know. Perhaps a bit of explanation.

When Christmas break comes, it means no classes, much less time with my international friends, and avoiding the whole holiday part of Christmas. Christmas for me is focusing on being grateful Jesus came, but having no family, the whole holiday thing is something unrelatable. So mostly hibernating at home is my thing during the holidays.

New Year’s is something I have been cynical about for quite some time. My thought is that nothing changes just because we turn a page on the calendar.

Yes, it was wonderful to spend Christmas Eve and Christmas Day with my Ukrainian friends. It was an absolute blessing. But the rest of the time, it was hiberbating at home.

Some of my classes start again this week, so it is time to get back on schedule. It is back to the land of the living. 🙂

A new term at the college brings excitement for me wondering who I will meet and what contacts Jesus has set up for me.

So a new adventure begins.

Thank you for reading. God Bless.

  6. Matt, it is good to take breaks and have a breather in your busy schedule. You might have needed the time at home, to rejuvenate, reset, and refresh. Jesus often went to lonely places to spend time with his Heavenly Father and to hear the voice of his Father. May this new year be one that surprises you with joy, love and laughter.
