Sunday afternoon my friend Pastor Alekseyi tried to teach me to say He is Risen Indeed in Russian. He wanted me to say it in response as people walked in the door saying Christ is Risen in Russian. I wasn’t quite getting it, so I brought up Google translate, typed He is Risen Indeed for it to translate to Russian. Then all I had to do was click the speaker icon on Google Translate for my laptop to respond. Alekseyi found that to be amusing. 🙂

The thought hit me that all over the world on Resurrection Sunday, in many languages, people were greeting each other with Christ Is Risen/He Is Risen Indeed. As wonderful as that is, it pales in comparison to what will happen in the future according to Philippians 2:9-11.

“Therefore God exalted him to the highest place
and gave him the name that is above every name,
that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow,
in heaven and on earth and under the earth,
and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord,
to the glory of God the Father.”

The day is coming that Jesus will receive the honor he is so deserving of when all will bow before him. Some will do so rejoicing because we will face him as our Savior. Sadly, others will do so trembling because they rejected Jesus in this life and face him as their judge.

The question is which group are we in? If we trust in Jesus and receive him as our Savior, that day will be a wonderful day.

Thank you for reading. God Bless.

  1. The part of the verse that say every kneel will bow made sense to me just this year. I heard someone explain it the way you have explained it and I was wowed!! That both the righteous and the wicked will bow. Wooooow!!!!Cant wait to see how some so egoistic people will behave when they have to bow and declare that Christ is God😂That will be so nice for me as a Believer in Christ who continuously see people who disregard Christ and it pains me.

    1. TO see Jesus, our precious Savior, who suffered for us, receive the honor he deserves, will be wonderful

  2. I wonder if we’ll acknowledge Christ as Lord in our numerous, earthly tongues, or will we be given–miraculously, in a moment–a single universal language that all of us will speak and understand, and in unison declare His Lordship?! Can you imagine millions of voices praising Him, all at once?! Oh my!! Whatever holy-goosebump-worship we’ve experienced before will pale in comparison!

    1. It will be an awesome day

  3. Amen. As we trust in the Resurrection, may all believers share the Good News. Our efforts are destined to bring others to step forward and accept Jesus as Lord and Savior. With newfound faithfulness, embrace His grace.

    1. It is a privilege and blessing to share the gospel

  4. What a day that will be when the Lord returns and every knee will bow at His feet. I am happy that you were able to overcome the difficulty with your Russian language. But keep practicing. Have a blessed week.
