I realize Easter was a few weeks ago, but I wanted to share a thought that kept coming to me during The Passion Week, Palms Sunday, Good Friday and Easter Sunday.

The thought is that Jesus intentionally set the stage for The Passion Week knowing all that would happen. A repeated theme in John is Jesus saying the hour or the time has not yet come. He knew there was an appointed time coming.
When Jesus brought Lazarus back from the dead, after Lazarus had been dead for four days, Jesus did so in Bethany which was near Jerusalem. It created a huge buzz. It was not too long after that, that Jesus went into Jerusalem on Palms Sunday. No wonder the crowds were shouting Hosanna. They had heard what Jesus did for Lazarus. Jesus showed his authority over death.
Jesus told the disciples that he had the authority to lay down his life and to be resurrected. He also told them that, “no greater love than this that one lays down his life for a friend.”

Out of his deep love for us, Jesus set the stage for the Passion Week, rode into Jerusalem knowing all that would happen, allowed himself to be arrested, tortured and crucified, and defeated death.
Dear reader please reflect on the deep deep love of Jesus.
Thank you for reading. God Bless.
