It’s feels like I blinked and it is May already. Fun fact, it has snowed where I live twice in my lifetime the first week of May. But that won’t happen this year. May is when my tree pollen allergy ends for the year, which I look forward to each year. May is full of fun celebrations like Mother’s Day, graduations, and weddings.

May is meaningful to me for a different reason. May is Mental Health Awareness Month. As someone who has lived with depression, I feel having Mental Health Awareness Month provides an opportunity to share about how Jesus has helped me while living with depression in hope it will help others. So this month, some of my posts will be about it.

It was in May five years ago that my book Jesus Understands Trauma became available on Amazon. Though not a best seller, I am grateful that those who have read feel it helped them. You can find it by clickng this link. Jesus Understands Trauma.

In closing, I would like to share a thought with you. Jesus understands sorrow. The night he was arrested, knowing all that was going to happen, he went to the garden to pray and shared with his disciples in Matthew 27:38- Then he said to them, “My soul is overwhelmed with sorrow to the point of death. Stay here and keep watch with me.”

Thank you for reading. God Bless.

  2. Happy May Matt. Our pollen will be around awhile. No leaves on trees yet here. Ice went off lakes 11 days ago. I hope to drive through your state in the fall. Keep on keeping on!
