The school district for my city has decided to not have classes all of Thanksgiving week. That is due to an uptick on COVID cases resulting in us being in the red, severe risk, on the dial.
So that means this week I will not only be teaching my morning class, but also preparing for a possible return to remote learning after Thanksgiving week.
2020 has certainly been a roller coaster of a year.

I am so thankful for my first experience teaching English in Constanta Romania in June 1997. During our training weekend at my church, the two men helping us prepare repeated a phrase they told us would be essential to remember during our time in teaching in Romania. The phrase was Be Flexible.
That has stayed with me over the years in both teaching and in ministry among the various cultures in my city.

Be Flexible has certainly been tested this year more than any other year. This week will be no different as I teach not knowing if we will be remote learning after Thanksgiving week or back in the building.
I am thankful for the one eternal constant who has been my source of strength mentally, emotionally, and spiritually through this crazy year. Jesus has carried me through it so far and he will continue to do so.
