A few weeks ago, I purchased something that has constituted my final step on my journey as a coffee purist. Yes, yours truly bought a coffee grinder to use at home. It is delightful that now I can grind my own coffee and buy whole coffee beans. 🙂

There are certain products I will ‘splurge’ on and coffee is one of them. For years, I have bought coffee for my home that comes from companies that I know do not use child labor. I try to be a conscientious buyer when I can. Even the coffee grinder was made by a company in Europe and not in China. I would rather have my money go to a country that is not bent on trying to ruin my country.
The coffee shops I go to are ones that only use coffee grown by companies that do not use child labor. I buy my coffee beans from those shops too so I know the beans were not picked by child labor. It is worth it to me to pay a little extra knowing children were not being used.
I had not seen a movie in the theater for years and that was before COVID hit. But I saw Sound of Freedom in the theater because it has an extremely important message about fighting child sex trafficking. It was worth it for me to spend the extra money to see it in the theater and not wait for it come out on a streaming service.
Where I am going with this post is that we can vote with our pocketbooks, our money, by spending it on products made by companies we know support values we embrace.
What do you think?
Thank you for reading. God Bless.
