A few weeks ago, I purchased something that has constituted my final step on my journey as a coffee purist. Yes, yours truly bought a coffee grinder to use at home. It is delightful that now I can grind my own coffee and buy whole coffee beans. 🙂

There are certain products I will ‘splurge’ on and coffee is one of them. For years, I have bought coffee for my home that comes from companies that I know do not use child labor. I try to be a conscientious buyer when I can. Even the coffee grinder was made by a company in Europe and not in China. I would rather have my money go to a country that is not bent on trying to ruin my country.

The coffee shops I go to are ones that only use coffee grown by companies that do not use child labor. I buy my coffee beans from those shops too so I know the beans were not picked by child labor. It is worth it to me to pay a little extra knowing children were not being used.

I had not seen a movie in the theater for years and that was before COVID hit. But I saw Sound of Freedom in the theater because it has an extremely important message about fighting child sex trafficking. It was worth it for me to spend the extra money to see it in the theater and not wait for it come out on a streaming service.

Where I am going with this post is that we can vote with our pocketbooks, our money, by spending it on products made by companies we know support values we embrace.

What do you think?

Thank you for reading. God Bless.

  1. Amen, brother! I’m with you on what we spend…on a funny note, you know I believe that life is too short for bad coffee, right? Like you, I bought my own grinder (almost the exact same one) and yes, I’ll pay to watch what I believe spreads the message of God’s love! Have you seen “Jesus Revolution” on Netflix? I need to write about it. It touched my heart so much. On my birthday, July 8th, 4,800 people were baptized at that spot on the beach this year! Sip sip hooray to our Savior, wonderful family and friends,…good coffee and God-centered media! Praying always, brother! 🙏

    1. Yes I watched Jesus revolution and loved it. Saying cheers with my cup of coffee little sister

      1. Sip sip hooray to Jesus! And cheers to you, brother! We made it another day, Praise God!

      2. Another day to be closer to the return of Jesus 🙂

  2. It is good to support businesses that do not use child labor or slaves period. During COVID the masks that were found everywhere were made by political prisoners in China, the Uyghur people, who the Communist government had jailed on their ethnicity. I did not like to use these masks due to the slave labor used to make them. It is good to be aware and make good choices about products.

    1. The Uyghur people have suffered terribly

  3. I’m thinking of elevating my coffee game and buying a coffee grinder too! 😊

    1. Good idea 🙂
With a grinder, you can have various kind of coffee beans on hand and make what you want for that day

  4. Maybe I should get one too but will make sure of where it is made

    1. I prefer made in USA and if that is not available I look for a country friendly to us

  5. I am so thankful for good coffee! Your message is strong and powerful, thanks for sharing it.

    1. Thank you 🙂
Good coffee is an essential for me on Monday mornings 🙂

  6. Good thinking!! I agree!! Definitely important to share about this so people are aware regarding child labor and sex trafficking.
