It was about 5am Thursday that a severe thunderstorm blew through my city. The thunder was so loud that it woke me up. The same storm caused a tornado east of my city. But the storm was not the story for me. It was that day after the storm.

It was one of the nicest days Thursday no humidity and warm not hot. There was no wind and and we had sunny skies. It was the kind of day I wish we could have all year.
The thought came to me that the storm and the day after could be symbolic of life and knowing Jesus. Hardships in life can cause us to seek out Jesus and trust in him as our Savior. It is the after the hardships and coming to know Jesus that really matters because once we come to know Jesus, relationship with Jesus, that we receive eternal life and have eternal hope.
We are not guaranteed a life of no problems in this life. Jesus said as much in John 16:33-“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”
This life and any of its hardships are temporary. Relationship with Jesus, living with Jesus, is eternal. The hardship might blow into our lives, but it is the after that really matters when the after is eternal life, eternal relationship with Jesus.
Thank you for reading. God Bless.
