I was reflecting on Matthew 16:25 this morning- “For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me will find it. “
While in the context of Matthew 16, Jesus is speaking of being willing to lose everything because of following him even our earthly lives, there is a principle that came to mind for me.
When we come to know Jesus as our Savior, if we are willing to leave behind things in our lives that are not of God, if we are willing to be God’s servants in this life, we can discover new things about ourselves and new ventures in life.
I think about my life. The time came that I felt I should say goodbye to my sales position with a top fifty office furniture dealership and a promising career. Stepping out in faith to ministry was not an easy path. There have been many valleys, but God led me to life with so much meaning for me that I cannot imagine my life any other way.
Jesus led me to a life, a ministry, to share his love with people from all over the world. Even blogging is because of Jesus. My blog initially started as a way to share with people who lived in my city but moved back to their countries.
