Yesterday I went out for lunch for the first time in a very long time. It was my friend from Bosnia’s birthday, so we went to eat hamburgers which are his favorite. I treated him to lunch and encouraged him to get the double cheeseburger. Mine was healthier with a Bison Burger with a gluten free bun.

Over lunch we talked about a few things we wished we knew last year at this time. I mentioned that I wish I could go back one year and tell myself to invest all I have in Zoom, a company that makes hand sanitizer, and a company that makes toilet paper. I never did understand the whole run on toilet paper.
He follows the stock market and told me before the pandemic Zoom traded at $50 a share and now it is over $500 a share.
Life can change so quickly. This past year has certainly illustrated that vividly. We are not guaranteed anything in this life except that Jesus has promised to always be with us and has overcome the world-this life.
Changes can also be good. My city moved down to the middle of the yellow on to COVID risk dial this week. I had a positive interview last week about becoming a substitute teacher. It is not all bad in this life. But something my pastor said in his message a few weeks ago has me thinking. I forget who he quoted, but the message is:
If we know Jesus, life in this world is the worst thing we will experience.
If we do not know Jesus, life in this world is the best we will experience.
Ponder those thoughts for a while.
Thank you for reading. God Bless.
P.S.- when my friend showed his wife the picture of his double cheeseburger, she was aghast π
Wow, $500 a share for Zoom! Amazing how tragedy can made another wealthy? Interesting how our world works?π€π£
Yes it is
Now I’m hungry & I learned something. What a start to my morning.
π
I love quotes that make me think, books that make me ponder, and sermons that remain in my mind all week. Thanks for the quote today!
Glad to share it π
Amen, great message and so true! By the way, I love bison. I eat free range bison meat from a company called Wild Idea in South Dakota almost every day. It is my main source of protein. Delicious! God bless!
Bison is low on cholesterol too
The message at the bottom reminded me of 1 Thessalonians 4:13 βAnd now, dear brothers and sisters, we want you to know what will happen to the believers who have died so you will not grieve like people who have no hope.β
By the way, the burger is making me hungry. π
Wonderful passage from 1 Thessalonians
Interesting thought. If now that I Know Jesus this side is my worst experience, heaven is truly worth it
We can meet in heaven little sister π
We will Big brother
πππthat must have been some cheeseburger π yep in this life, serving the Lord is the best and itβs also the worst. But I would still choose serving the Lord, with everything I have to give up to do so
Even if you had to give up shopping? lol
sorry couldn’t resist π
πππ thankfully, He has not called me to make that choice
lol
What would your husband say if God called you to make that choice? lol
He asks that question all the time, because He wants to go on a short missionary trip. But until then, I will shop ππ
lol
What a fascinating perspective on this life. I find myself laughing because it’s true! The hamburger looks yummy.
I love hamburgers. I love the perspective too π
Yummy cheeseburgers!!
What a great quote to reflect on, so true!!
Cheeseburgers π
That is a true quote. I am glad we have Jesus to be our anchor in this changing world.
Having Jesus as our anchor makes SO MUCH difference
I love that you share bits of your life with us brother! I think I might also do that when I get the change, I think it’s really sweet!! God Bless π
Thank you little sister. How are you? How are your studies?
I’m well thank you! Hope you are well too :)) studies haven’t started yet but hope to finish real soon!
I am ok. Do you enjoy your studies?
I love my studies so much! Often it doesn’t even feel like work!
That’s good. π
What are you studying?
Bach of Health Science and Bach of Commerce π
